Dates have been announced for music festival, West Palm

Talk about big news. One of South Florida’s largest music festivals, and arguably our favorite because it happens in our backyard, will become a four-day festival in 2018.

SunFest announced today its 2018 dates of Thursday, May 3 to Sunday, May 6. And it’s true: One day is missing.

But this big news isn’t bad at all. In fact, it’s pretty good. Here’s the deal: Going from a 5-day to a 4-day festival will allow SunFest to increase its budget for acts.

South Florida has become a destination for festivals, especially music festivals. Think about it. There’s Okeechobee Music Festival, Tortuga in Fort Lauderdale, Rolling Loud in Miami and can’t forget about Ultra.

SunFest said in a press release today that “with the increasing number of festivals both nationally and in the South Florida area, our cost for entertainment has increased 132% since 2010 and yet our admission price has only increased 32%.”

Cool. So what’s this all mean for you? Well, it’s simple. Prices will stay affordable, and you can save the most money when you buy in advance. Tickets are available now through March 9.

  • $37 for a 1-day pass
  • $59 for a 2-day pass

These prices are only $2 more than what you paid in 2017. And of course the best deal is the 4-day pass, which costs $75.

You can expect deets on the lineup to be released in late February, as usual.
