Car show and music fest on tap in Norristown Sunday

NORRISTOWN >> Main Street will be the place to be Saturday as two major events coincide to bring a festive fall feel to the municipality.

The 2017 Norristown Annual Car, Truck, and Bike Show motors into town from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., centered at Main and Swede. Featuring unique vehicles of all makes and models plus food, DJ’s, live bands, a raffle, vendors and a burnout demonstration, the popular event is considered one of the best car shows in the Montgomery County. Two hundred trophies, plus 20, 6-foot specialty trophies will be awarded in a variety of categories. Proceeds benefit Norristown Parks and Rec.

Although the early registration period has ended, those interested in participating can still register for $20 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.

While the car show has become a Norristown staple, this year the Norristown Music Fest and World Cafe Live Beer Garden will make its highly anticipated debut on East Main Street, between Arch and DeKalb streets, from noon to 11 p.m..

Anchored by Norristown’s own Five Saints Distilling, the event will feature live performances by Danielle & Jenniter, Coup ’de Ville, Pat’s Run, Wildflower, Ken Pierson, Lenny Martelli and more. While soaking in the sweet sounds, attendees can enjoy the World Cafe Live Beer Garden from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Local merchants will provide “food, fixins and mixins” and there will also be animal adoption opportunities available.
